How To Ensure Your Babocush Is Safe For Your Baby

Posted by Babocush Support on

Every parent has concerns about using new products on their baby – after all, you need to be 100% confident that it will be safe and do your baby good. When you’re trying to take care of a new baby who suffers from colic or reflux and nothing is working to provide relief, you can feel a bit desperate and ready to try anything that might help. Our Babocush cushion is designed exactly for this – providing utter contentment to unsettled babies, and of course baby safety was paramount when we designed it. To put your mind totally at rest before you give it a go yourself, here are some ways you can ensure your Babocush is safe for your baby to use in addition to the safety instructions we provide with every purchase.

Never let your baby sleep on the Babocush

The Babocush has been designed to help your baby relax and settle, bring up gas and trapped wind, and enjoy some tummy time without mum or dad having to hold them. Naturally, as your baby relaxes on the cushion, thanks to the soft material, the soothing vibration and gentle heartbeat sounds, they will start to feel sleepy – but we always recommend that you move your baby to their crib or Moses basket at this point so that they can sleep safely. The Babocush is not to be used as a bed, as front sleeping can pose a suffocation risk.

Making sure baby is securely strapped in

Some parents have asked us how their baby will stay on the cushion, but with our 5 padded straps, your baby will be snuggly and securely harnessed in the cushion, with support exactly where they need it.  These comfortable and adjustable cushioned straps go between baby’s legs, up their back and two thick straps cross baby’s back as well. There’s absolutely no chance of them wriggling out of their Babocush.

What age range is the Babocush suitable for?

Your Babocush is suitable for newborn babies and can be used on a rocker or bouncer chair up until the age of 3 months. From age 3 months to 6 months, your Babocush can be used on its own on a non-slip flat surface. The adjustable harness is suitable for babies up to the age of 6 months.

Attaching to a rocker

Your Babocush cushion is designed so that it can be attached to a rocker (although this isn’t supplied with the cushion). This means you can combine the great design of the Babocush with the practicality of a soothing rocker for your baby (we especially like the 4moms mamaRoo infant seat). Attaching your Babocush couldn’t be easier, or safer – simply use the two sturdy straps to secure to your rocker or bouncer and sit back and catch your breath while baby relaxes.
